I Wandered In A Field Of Flowers

I wandered in a field of flowers
In wonder there for many hours
One flower there so caught my eye
I knew I’d never say goodbye

She was a blossom beauty grace
Petals played upon her face
Her fragrance melted all my mind
No trace of thinking left behind

I watered her with loving tears
We loved us well beyond our fears
I valued her above my life
I asked this flower to be my wife

But one day came I lost my way
Forgot the words I meant to say
My dreams they dreamed too far and high
And I was floating in the sky

And when I gazed upon my love
Through the clouds from high above
The field was barren, stripped and bare
And my Beloved wasn’t there
