Portraits of Adi Da Samraj by Simon Pritchard in the First Room Gallery

At City Fox Gallery in Maarssen there is, in addition to the very large art gallery on the ground floor, a smaller art gallery upstairs on the second floor, called the First Room Gallery. This room is dedicated to displaying some of my portraits of Adi Da Samraj, along with some large abstract paintings by Floor In’t Veld. I love to paint portraits of My Teacher Adi Da Samraj. Ruchira Da is my ishta, a word that means ‘chosen deity.’
When I contemplate Adi Da’s bodily (human) form by means of external physical photographs or paintings or ‘internal’ pictures of Him in my imagination, mind and feeling heart, my being relaxes, ‘internal’ contradictions are dissolved, reduced or dissolved in the remembrance of His spiritual beauty, His sublimity, His freedom, His Divine Presence and Divine State.
To paint pictures of Him is for me a great privilege and honour, a source of endless interest and joy.
