Diamond Of Bright

Painting: Starry Night Over The Rhone by Vincent Van Gogh

I looked in the sky in the deep of the night
Where a star shone so loud a diamond of Bright
And I reached for it then with the heart of my eye
As I gazed at this star in the deep of the sky

My longing was such that I fell to my knees
And prayed to this star to give me the keys
To open my heart and open my eye
To unfold a Love so pure it can’t die

The star beamed its Light from
High upon high
Down through my head to my toes
Until I
Was trembling now with my heart broken wide
And Radiance there no sorrow inside

I praised Your Bright Form
As I ran through the night
My heart all a shine
In the Lamp of your Light

I needed to tell what happened to me
The light that you are that makes me so free
The bliss that you pour from the realms beyond time
Beyond all the worlds and reason and rhyme

But no one was there could I see could I tell
Were they hiding at home like a snail in their shell?
Or curled in the corn in lovers embrace?
I looked wide and far and looked every place

And then I saw people
Thousands and more
And millions and billions
Of beings I saw

Gazing they were in the deep of the night
At a star all a shining a diamond of Bright
And they reached for it then with the heart of their eye
And prayed to this star in the deep of the sky

The star beamed its Light
Transmitted its Ray
Down through their heads to their toes
Until they
Were trembling now with hearts broken wide
You Radiant there
No sorrow inside

They praise your Bright Form
In a rush of delight
Their hearts all a shine
In the Lamp of your Light

We praise Your Sweet Grace
That gives us new sight
There is only Love
In the deep of the night
